Week 13 Rankings
The home stretch.
This is it! The last week of the season. On playoff spot is locked up (Flanders) while Dark Helmet is 99% likely to advance. MKBA and Wrath of Kahn are still locked in a battle for a division nobody seems to want to win with Stick Rock and Skoal Bandits fighting for the last playoff spots.
High Score🏆
John’s Scary Team led the league this week with an impressive 154pts
Bottom of the Pile😬
It wasn’t the finest week for Wrath of Khan, who was left in the dust with a lowly 88pts
Bragging Rights💪
Springfield Flanders blew out Wrath of Khan by 60.4pts (148.52pts to 88.12pts)
Bad Beat🤕
Mel Kiper’s Best Available lost to Dark Helmet by a razor thin margin of just 1.44pts! Keep an eye on those stat corrections... 😰
Lucky Break🍀
Black Ghostbusters finished 4-5 in all-play this week, but still came away with the win
Not So Lucky...😡
Mel Kiper’s Best Available had a 6-3 all-play record, but still ended up taking the L
Sharp-Shooter🎯
It’s time to wonder if Black Ghostbusters can see the future (or got a hold of Biff’s sports almanac), as they nailed this week with a perfect 100% accuracy score 🔮 💯
(Editors note: This is an AI generated section. I get an award for having the most accurate lineup. It’s not because I have great vision, but it is because every other player on my bench is virtually un-playable)
Waiver Wire Gem💎
Tip your cap to Black Ghostbusters. They scooped up Bryce Young from the waiver wire this week, who helped them secure that all-important win!
(Editors note: Again, this is an AI generated comment. Believe me, nobody is popping champagne over at the Ghostbusters HQ over having to play Bryce Young this week.)
Our playoff seedings going into the final game of the regular season are as follows:
1. Springfield Flanders (Last Week #1)
They are in and are the clear favorites to win it all. The most consistent scoring team all season long should benefit from the 2-week playoff format.
Playoff Chances - 100%
2. Mel Kipers Best Available (Last Week #2)
Arrogance! That is the only word I can think of to describe the lack of attention paid by MKBA in what would have been a division clinching game in Week 12. If they had started two QBs instead of one, they would be in the playoffs. Now they STILL need one more win or on more loss by Wrath of Kahn to get in because the point total is not high enough for one of the Wild Card spots. A loss this week + A Kahn win would require MKBA to outscore Bandits by 18 points to grab the 2nd Wild Card spot.
Playoff chances - 85%
3. Dark Helmet (Last Week #3)
Not to be outdone, Helmet decided to level the playing field this week by benching his 2nd QB in his matchup with MKBA. Luckily, Helmet still pulled out the (meaningless) victory by 2 points. But Dan needs points for the Wild Card, so the missing spot in the Week 12 lineup could come back to haunt him.
Playoff chances - 95%
4. Skoal Bandits (Last Week #5)
The Bandits could have put some more ground between him and Stick Rock this weekend, but Brock Purdy’s single digit performance on MNF keeps this Wild Card Race tighter than it probably should be.
If MKBA drops out of their division lead, Bandits will need to be within 17 points of MKBA’s final score this week to advance.
Playoff Chances - 70%
5. Stick Rock (Last Week #4)
Speaking of slow, agonizing deaths.... Holy Crap! This team went from averaging 147 points/game from Weeks 1 - 8 to averaging just 110 points/game over the last 4 weeks. Joe Burrow will make his debut in the lineup this week so that should help. Will need to outscore the Bandits by 40 points this week to advance to the playoffs.
If MKBA drops out of the division lead, Rocky would need to outscore them by 23 points.
Playoff Chances - 30%
6. John’s Scary Team (Last Week #8)
JST is finishing his inaugural season in high scoring fashion as they hung 153 points on MFT this week. If this team had traded from their surplus of QBs this season to get the much needed WR help, they would still be in the Wild Card race.
Playoff Chances less than 1%
7. Milford Football Team (Last Week #6)
MFT finally put a bullet in the brain of his slim playoff chances by scoring a mere 112 points in Week 12. Josh Allen’s shocking 8 point performance doomed any chances of a miracle finish.
Playoff Chances (Less than 1%)
8. Ghostbusters (Last Week #10)
Ghostbusters won a game! Thats a 2-game winning streak! No, I did not win two consecutive weeks, but I did win games in consecutive months! One in October and one in November!
Playoff Chances (less than 1%)
9. Peeping Tomlin’s (Last Week #9)
ZZZzzzzzzzzzz. Go back to sleep Jared. Nothing to see here. I will wake you up in April when the Knicks playoffs start.
Playoff Chances less than 1%
10. Wrath of Khan (Last Week #7)
And this is why we decide wild card spots by total points scored. In a week where Jim is fighting for his Division championship, he puts up this 88-point turd burger. Jim needs a win this week coupled with an MKBA loss to advance to the playoffs. I would say they have a 20% chance of that happening. Astoundingly, they probably have about an 80% chance of ending up as the #10 seed with the worst scoring offense in the league!
Playoff Chances 20%
