We are one week away from the 2026 KAOS Fantasy Football Draft. Hopefully, everyone has been preparing, reviewing research, and completing a few mock drafts ahead of the big day. As you finalize your strategy, please review the key rule and roster changes for the 2026 season below.
Lineup Changes
The starting lineup now includes an additional flex position. This new spot may be filled by a running back, wide receiver, or tight end.
The original flex position will remain limited to running backs and wide receivers.
Roster Size and Position Limits
Roster sizes have been reduced from 20 players in previous seasons to 16 players this year. Because trades are rare in this league, the smaller roster size is intended to create more in-season player acquisition options and increase the number of playable talent available on the waiver wire each week.
The position limits for each roster are as follows:
QB: 3
RB: 5, down from 6 in previous seasons
WR: 5, down from 6 in previous seasons
TE: 3
D/ST: 2
IR Spots increase to 4 from 2 in previous seasons.
Quarterback Draft Reminder
When drafting quarterbacks, make sure they do not share the same bye week. It may not seem important during the draft, but it can become a major issue later in the season if you need a win and are forced to either drop a quarterback or leave the roster spot empty.
And for anyone thinking, “I can just trade for a quarterback when that happens,” remember: nobody makes trades in this league.
Trade Deadline
The trade deadline is Tuesday, November 18, after Week 10, at noon EST.
